  • 'Silly-one' Gets Serious 11 Jun 2002 (News)
    (The 100bhp 1.3 does 112mph, gets to 60 in 9.4 seconds and can manage 60mpg on the motorway.) There's also a new part-time four wheel drive '4trak' 1.3 at £9,995 which should be good in the snow, and Rally 2 and Rally 4 versions. The 110bhp Rally 2 does 115mph and gets to 60 in 7.9 seconds, while the heavier four wheel drive Rally 4 does 112 with 60 coming up in 8.9 seconds.
  • Chrysler Crossfire in Production 2003 7 Mar 2002 (News)
    Chrysler has announced that European production of its exciting Crossfire coupe is to commence at the Karmann works in Germany in early 2003, and right hand drive imports to the UK are scheduled for late 2003. The car is powered by a longitudinally front-mounted 3.2 litre 90 degree V6 18 valve engine with a single cam for each bank. Power output is 160kW (215bhp) with 310Nm (229 lb ft) torque.
  • Fuel cost savings wiped out 19 Apr 2001 (News)
    AA Motoring Costs 2001, available free of charge on the AA's website www.theaa.com at the end of April, shows that, for the first time in at least five years, motorists doing around 5000 miles a year will see their motoring costs dip while higher mileage drivers are worse off. Even so, owners of 1101-1549cc cars driving up to 5,000 miles a year pay an average of 59.16 pence per mile against 36.93 pence for those driving 10,000 to 15,000 miles annually.

    A twice weekly military convoy takes vehicles from Dakhla to Mauretania and while the road is not tarmacadem, two wheel drive vehicles should not experience too many problems. Once in Mauretania, those with four wheel drive vehicles can drive along the beach through the National Park of the skeleton coast while two wheel drive vehicles will take the inland route to the capital, Nouakchott.
  • Automatic 'Smart City' Braking Standard on new Mazda CX-5 8 Jun 2015 (News)
    On sale this spring, the Mazda CX-5 model range will feature an 18-strong line-up with prices starting from £21,395 and rising to £28,795 (OTR).  The Mazda CX-5 will be offered with a choice of two engines with three power outputs (2.0-litre SKYACTIV-G 165ps petrol and 2.2-litre SKYACTIV-D 150ps or 175ps diesel), manual and automatic transmissions, 2-wheel drive (2WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) and four equipment levels - SE-L, SE-L Nav, Sport and Sport Nav. Four petrol and six diesel models will come with 2-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive will be available for eight diesel models.  Prices for 2.0-litre petrol versions start from £21,395 (OTR) for the CX-5 SE-L and rise to £23,995 for the CX-5 Sport NAV.

      The new Jaguar F-Pace ‘crossover’ SUV comes with Ingenium 2.0 litre petrol diesel or petrol engines, rear wheel drive or four wheel drive, manual or 8-speed ZF automatic transmissions: or 3.0 litre V6 petrol or diesel engines with automatic transmissions and four wheel drive only.   The line up starts with the 2.0 litre 180PS/430Nm Ingenium diesel rear wheel drive 6-speed manual at prices from £34,170, emitting 129g/km CO2 and averaging 57.7mpg combines in the ECDC tests.
