'Silly-one' Gets Serious

Tue, 11 Jun 2002
Daihatsu has announced another bundle of improvements to its light, quick and economical Sirion. First improvements are price cuts, bringing the 1.0EL automatic and 1.3EL manual down to £7,995 which is very fair for the spec level, performance and economy. (The 100bhp 1.3 does 112mph, gets to 60 in 9.4 seconds and can manage 60mpg on the motorway.)

There's also a new part-time four wheel drive '4trak' 1.3 at £9,995 which should be good in the snow, and Rally 2 and Rally 4 versions. The 110bhp Rally 2 does 115mph and gets to 60 in 7.9 seconds, while the heavier four wheel drive Rally 4 does 112 with 60 coming up in 8.9 seconds.
