Peugeot 308 - Keep car or ditch it after cylinder head replaced 12 May 2021 (Forum)
Long story short: car broke down after having timing belt replaced. Replacement was needed because of manufacturer's recall. Peugeot registered dealer did the work. As I understand it so far, to repair they have stripped the engine entirely and replaced the cylinder head, plus a couple of other components to correct a misfire with the new cylinder head. -
Peugeot 308 - Gearbox issue 10 Oct 2020 (Forum)
Hi, I have a 2010 model Peugeot 308 1.6 HDI. It has 80.000 km. (not mile) in the teller. The problem with my car is that gear stick can not be pulled to second, fourth and reverse gear. Literally, you can not pull the stick. -

Hi My car is a Peugeot 307 1.4 petrol 2005 model with around 80k miles. I will be driving steadily along at say 60mph all is well. Then, suddenly, the STOP light flashes and the temperature gauge rises to the red zone, its like that for like a second and then returns back to normal. -
Peugeot 307 - Coolant temperature issue 4 Sep 2018 (Forum)
Hi all I’ve had my Peugeot 307 1.4 (2003) for a few months now, passed its MOT with no advisories last month. In the past week, I've started having a few issues. The main one is the coolant temperature. On the dash, after around 10 mins, the indicator flies up to max and the STOP sign beeps on the dash. -
Ford Focus Estate / Fabia Estate / Peugeot 206SW - High miler turbo diesel estates? Or petrol? 30 Dec 2017 (Forum)
Need to keep it cheap, I have been looking at older (<2007) and high mileage (>100K) estates. Something between £1k - £1.5k.... Focus or Fabia Estate, Peugeot 206 / 207SW are on my radar. Is it better to go with a petrol, or a turbo diesel? I read lots of threads discussing problems with the latter. Never owned a diesel, the fuel economy appeals but I read a lot of threads discussing expensive issues with the turbo diesels, e.g. the Ford Focus Estate TDCI1.6 problems, concern me. -
2016 Peugeot 308 1.2 THP - Engine cutting out dangerously when driving 19 Apr 2017 (Forum)
It doesn't restart for some minutes causing me great anxiety as the the traffic jams grow. No faults show up on the cars computer listings. So far Peugeot have carried out an ECU and gearbox update and next are to fit a new petrol pump. I have been without the car for 7 days which include an aborted trip to Calais and the courtesy car they tell me does not cover me in France. -
Volvo XC90 or new Peugeot 5008SUV - Which large SUV 18 Jan 2017 (Forum)
I really like the look of the Volvo XC90 and have heard very good reports; I could get a used one. New, I like the look of the Peugeot 5008 SUV due out this spring. Interested in opinions regarding which would be a better bet. Is it risky to buy a new model that hasn't been tried a great deal? Is it worth buying the Volvo with its extra tax costs? -

peugeot 307 - Catalytic converter fault and anti pollution fault 3 Jun 2013 (Forum)
The display will come up with anti pollution fault and catalytic converter fault, guzzles fuel and the engine management light flashes. It has been to peugeot for a diagnostic test and they came up with the fact that there was a fault on cylinder 2 which has been changed however this did not correct the problem. We are now running out of options and have spent over £700 in the last 3 months and just want the car sorted now! -
Peugeot 306 1.9d '96 - Rad Fan Not Playing Ball 9 Aug 2012 (Forum)
Hi, I'm pulling my hair out here and could really do with some advice. I have a Peugeot 306 1.9 with a single radiator fan. The car is overheating when stationary because the fan will not kick in. Now, the temp. sensor is working fine because it displays the temperature on the dash and when I unplug it, the dial goes dead. -
Peugeot 3008 - Best way to extend warranty 12 Jul 2012 (Forum)
We love the car, and another day I might write up a review on it, but thats not the topic of this posting Topic is warranty The car has suffered 3 breakdowns in the 18 months we have owned it (bought it on approved used scheme 1 year old from Peugeot). Each time the fault has been engine related, and has been repaired under warranty. Not a great record for a nearly new car I know :-( The warranty expires in Feb 2013, a few months away, and we are considering selling it before then. -
Peugeot 306 D'Turbo - Car Revs With No Accelerator Black Smoke pug 306 9 Jul 2012 (Forum)
I was driving my Peugeot 306 d turbo home from work the other day and while accelerating up a dual carriageway the car revved too its limiter and puffed out clouds of black smoke then subsequently cut out while doing 70. I got it to the side of the road and checked i hadn't snapped a timing belt before attempting to restart the engine, after confirming this wasn't the problem i attempted to restart the car which didn't happen so i got it towed home, left it for a few hours and went back to it and it started so i drove it around a few streets by my house to see if the problem still occurred but only when i got it to more than 2500 rpm, which i thought could be the turbo. -
Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 00 2.0 hdi losing power and garage dont know why. 20 Jun 2012 (Forum)
My car is revving by itself whenever power is taken from the car.e.g lights rear de-mister.heaters.brake lights anything I have plugged it into the diagnostic machine four times now at two separate places, it keeps coming up as throttle position sensor circuit 2. I have replaced that part twice with second hand parts and yesterday a brand new one from Peugeot and it still has the same problem, also the machine can not turn off the engine management as its a permanent fault apparently. It also came up with underneath it premanent to ground. I duno if that is the earth or wot? -
Ugly cars..................why do people buy them? 6 Jan 2012 (Forum)
I've noticed there are lots of Peugeot 3008s about. yet to my eyes it's one of the most dumpy/ugly vehicles on sale. It only seems to have one aesthetic saving grace................the dashboard, which I think looks quite stylish. Ugliest convertible award goes to the Peugeot 308cc or Renault Megane cc. -
Peugeot 306 Wiper Relay 16 Dec 2011 (Forum)
Can anybody tell me where the front windscreen wiper relay is located on a 1996 (The early type 306s) Peugeot 306. The wipers will not park, work on intermittent wipe or autimatically wipe when using the washers. I have checked the wiper switch which is OK. The fault can't be down to the park switch contacts in the motor itself because it will not auto wipe after washing. -
peugeot 306 hdi - fuel pump primery curcuit 6 Mar 2011 (Forum)
i have just bought a peugeot 306 hdi, after having it about a month the engine manegment light came on and the car cut out, i thought it was the diesel because it was very low so i put some in and it still would not start, i had it put on a diagnostic computer and the code was po230 fuel pump primery curcuit, he cleared the code and the car run for about 1 hour so i was told to change the fuel pump relay which made no differance at all so i tryed a fuel pump (the one in the tank) but still no joy, now the car will only start for about five seconds before it cuts out but some times it will tick over for a while but when i try to rev it it cuts out and plus it would only rev to 2500 rpm and when i switch it off with the key it over runs for about 4 second. i hope some one can help as i dont know what to do next. thanks
