Very refined and surprisingly frugal

Purchased the above to replace my ‘16 plate VW Touareg, decided to downsize as both daughters now have their own vehicles.
Fuel economy very good for such a rapid vehicle, I am averaging 42MPG mainly on Motorways & Trunk roads which is 10 MPG better than the Touareg in a vehicle which can be very rapid. Fit and finish exemplary and in my opinion better than the Q5 which was my other choice but it was the deal I received from my local BMW dealership which clinched it. It was hundreds of pounds a month cheaper than the equivalently well spec’d. Q5 and yes I mean hundreds of Pounds a month on a PCH.
No faults as yet only criticism I can make is that I ordered the vehicle with a’ space saver’ tyre which reduced the height of the boot by about 30mm and creates a second lip to lift heavy items, I wasn’t told about this by the dealership, but to be fair I suspect as I was an early chooser of this model and as such the sales person wasn’t aware. Was nervous about the comments of the press about the harshness of the ride compared with the Touareg which had air suspension so optioned for the ‘variable damper control’ and even with 20” tyres I wouldn’t describe the ride as harsh unless you choose to place the suspension in Sport, which frankly I will not be doing. Currently on 6k miles engine run in now and as this is my first Beemer, I didn’t believe it would be as good as this. I suppose I should go and thank Audi !!!!
