Can I convert my Nissan Murano to LPG?

"Is there any problem in converting my 2005 Nissan Murano 3.5L CVT to run on LPG? I have heard that the valve seats could wear prematurely - can this be avoided? If OK, what system would you recommend?"

I don't recommend LPG conversions on engines with variable valve timing.

Which SUV could I replace my Nissan Murano with which will be cheaper to run?

"I have a 4-year-old sports utility, a Nissan Murano, but running it is breaking the bank as it only does 20 miles to the gallon and road tax is a mind-boggling £445 a year. The size is perfect to the inch. Can you think of a replacement to save on both the above costs? I have looked at the Audi Q5, which is too large. The BMW X models leave me cold. I also feel I should not be purchasing another car which is not a hybrid, but the Lexus, Touareg and Cayenne are too big and expensive. Have you any ideas please? Should I wait to see what green cars are produced in the future?"

The new BMW F25 X3 is the best SUV there is. BMW took everything that was wrong with the old X3 and put it right. 147-149g/km CO2, so low tax, 40mpg, 130mph, 0-60 in eight seconds, as big inside as the original X5, chain cam engine. Beats the Q5. Which is why there is a 10-month waiting list.
