2019 Skoda Fabia priced from £12,840

The updated Skoda Fabia is on sale now with prices starting at £12,840. Available in hatch and estate variants with an all-petrol engine line-up, the updated Fabia undercuts the SEAT Ibiza, Volkswagen Polo and Ford Fiesta on pricing.

The former entry-level 60PS 1.0-litre MPI petrol engine has been dropped from the range, meaning the 75PS version is now the most affordable engine available. A 1.0-litre TSI engine is also available with 95PS or 110PS, with the more powerful coming with the option of a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.

The affordable S model is available with the 75PS or 95PS engine and comes with new LED daytime running lights, a redesigned multifunction trip computer and Skoda's front assist collision detection system.

Stepping up to the SE model (starting at £14,115) brings with it front fog lights, new 15-inch alloy wheels, a new 6.5-inch infotainment system and - for the first time - a new automatic up/down function for the electric windows. Customers will also be able to choose from all engine options. Colour Edition models (priced from £14,665) gain 16-inch alloy wheels finished in silver, white or black.

Starting at £15,205, the Fabia SE L adds navigation, lighting on the centre console and 16-inch alloy wheels. The top spec Monte Carlo, costing from £16,785, comes with climate control, LED rear lights, rear electric windows and new seat upholstery. A standard styling package includes a black front spoiler, black roof, black floor mats and carbon-effect dashboard trim.

Options available across the range include adaptive cruise, a rear view camera and, for the first time on the Fabia, full LED headlights. Also for the first time, buyers can choose blind spot detection with rear traffic alert (£390), which helps the driver when changing lanes or reversing out of parking bays.
