BMW to be central marque at 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed
BMW has been named as the central feature marque for the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed, which takes place from 23-26 June. Vehicles from other brands within the group – Rolls-Royce, MINI and BMW Motorrad – will also appear at the popular event in Hampshire.
The central theme will be BMW’s strong motorsport heritage, with vehicles like the 328 Mille Miglia Roadster, Le Mans-winning V12 LMR and Brabham BMW BT52 taking to the hill. BMW will also run a range of motorcycles up the hill including the R 90 S 76 and 1966 R50 S Kaczor.
Away from the hill, BMW will have an M-sport themed stand showcasing the latest M cars, including the M2 and M4 GTS. Graeme Grieve, BMW Group UK’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “Throughout our 100 year history, BMW has always proved to be a highly innovative company which has defined change and looked to the future.
“From our first racing success in 1924 through to our plug-in hybrid model BMW i8, BMW Group has played a pioneering role in the automotive world. I am delighted that we will be celebrating our landmarks and achievements at Goodwood this year.”
