Renault improves Scenic for 2012

Renault is giving the Scenic and Grand Scenic a facelifted for 2012 with fresh styling, LED daytime running lights and new engines - a 1.2 TCe petrol with 115PS and a 1.5 dCi diesel that returns a claimed 68.9mpg. It will be available from February 2012 with the first cars expected to arrive in March.

The 1.5 dCi diesel comes with stop/start as standard and emits just 105g/km of CO2 meaning annual VED of just £20. Compared to the existing 1.5 dCi 110, this improved model is more economical and has more torque too - up to 260Nm from 240Nm.

Meanwhile the 1.2 TCe 115 petrol engine effectively replaces the 1.6 VVT 110 and emits 135g/km with claimed economy of 49.6mpg. Alongside these new engines will be the 1.6 dCi 130 with stop/start that is 20 per cent more economical than the 1.9 dCi it replaced.

Other improvements include the introduction of two new features. Visio System, a lane departure warning and automatic headlight low/high beam, plus Hill Start Assist.
