Citroen to offer Just Add Fuel style package

Published 07 February 2014

Citroen is following Peugeot and introducing Just Add Fuel style lease offers. Initially the deals will only be available on the upcoming C4 Cactus, but there's no reason for the offer not be expanded in time to cover all models in the range.

The package, much like Peugeot's Just Add Fuel, will allow buyers to lease a car with a monthly rate that covers insurance costs, maintenance, roadside assistance and annual VED. Citroen aims to make its offering more customisable, so buyers can base their monthly rate on mileage.

Lower mileage would mean a lower monthly bill, a bit like a pay as you go mobile phone package and a higher bill in those months when more distance is covered. The system would be more flexible than typical lease deals, which impose a mileage limitation and then charge quite a lot for every extra mile once that is exceeded.

The deals are due be in place in time for the introduction of the C4 Cactus in around October 2014, but they won't initially be available across the board. That said, we do expect the offer to be expanded across most models, probably from 2015.
