Civic Wagon and Type-R to be UK built

Honda’s latest civic variants, a practical Wagon and a high-performance Type-R, are both to be made in the UK, it has been announced. The models were announced at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, and will compliment the recently introduced five-door model, which is also made in the UK.

However, despite confirmation that the new Civics will be UK built, Honda has also announced that the next generation of Jazz - which is due in 2014 – will be made outside of Europe, with no models made at Honda’s UK plant.

It’s not bad news, though – Honda’s plans for the Civic Type-R and Wagon come on the back of a recent announcement of a £267m investment programme in Honda UK Manufacturing to support production of the new Civic, the new CR-V and the Honda’s latest 1.6-litre diesel engine.
