Hondamentalists take on the Three Peaks Challenge

Sat, 23 May 2009
Members of Honda (UK)’s Press and PR team will climb the UK’s three highest peaks for the Child Bereavement Charity in just under a month’s time.

The six-strong team of plucky ramblers will climb a total of 3407m, or 11,178ft, to raise £3000 in aid of the Child Bereavement Charity – one of Honda (UK)’s chosen charities for 2009/2010.

On 19 and 20 June, together they will climb Ben Nevis (1344m/4409ft) in Scotland, Scafell Pike (978m/3209ft) and finally Mount Snowdon in Wales (1085m/3560ft) – all-told they have 30 hours to complete the challenge. They will be driven from one mountain to the next in comfort, using three CR-Vs.

“We’re quite apprehensive, but optimistic at the same time. Undoubtedly, it will be hard work, but it is for a great cause and we get on well as a team, so that will keep us going,” said Sarah Fowler, PR Operations Manager for Honda (UK). “We would welcome any sponsorship, even if it is one pound - no donation is too small.”

Huge thanks go to all those who sponsored us at the SMMT Test Day on 21 May, helping to raise £200 and bringing us closer to the minimum £3000 goal.

Please sponsor the Hondamentalists at: www.justgiving.com/hondamentalists and help us smash our target.

To keep you up-to-date with the team’s progress as they complete their challenge, photos and film footage will be posted on www.hondauk-media.co.uk and Twitter. Search for ‘Honda_UK’ on Twitter.com.
