Meriva the Name of Vauxhall's Mini MPV

Wed, 22 May 2002
Vauxhall has announced some details of its new Corsa C based 5-seater mini MPV, set to launch at this autumn's Paris motor show and go on sale early next year to rival Honda's Jazz and Ford's Fiesta Fusion.

The three rear seats slide forwards individually or can be completely folded away similar to those of the Zafira, providing a flat floor. The Meriva is a compact 4,042mm (13ft 3in) long and will come with a range of diesel and petrol engine options from 1.6 to 1.8 litres with outputs of 75PS to 125PS. (The diesel will be the 75PS 1.7 16v DI.)

The car will be built at the existing Corsa factory at Zaragosa, Spain, up the road from Seat and down the road from VW's Polo plant near Pamplona.
