Restyled Clio on the way

Fri, 20 Apr 2001
A revamped Clio will be on sale in June. Although the basic design remains the same, with the big bum back-end complete with bubble-shaped rear window, several styling tweaks will bring the Clio's body into line with Renault's new family 'look' seen first in Geneva in March. Major differences include new bonnet, grille and head and tail lamp clusters.

Inside, the dashboard and centre console have been revised to take a double-clock binnacle and optional climate control and satnav systems. More stowage for odds and ends is provided, complete with obligatory cup-holders.

The Clio will be powered by a choice of seven units (five petrol, two diesel), including Renault's new 67.3mpg 1.5dCi common rail diesel.

Safety features include Emergency Brake Assist, fitted as standard across the range except in the Clio Renaultsport 172.
