More price cuts from Citroen

Sat, 02 Dec 2000
Faced with massive discounting of its cars by dealers and independents, Citroen has announced list price cuts across the range together with cashacks of £500 to £1,500. While the 1.1 litre Saxo First stays the same at an already sensible £5,995, there are cuts of up to £1,455 on all other Saxos bringing the 100bhp 1.6VTR down from £10,950 to £9,495. Berlingo Multispace 1.4s start at £8,495, the previous offer price, but the 1.8i and 1.9D are each reduced by £1,000 to £8,895 and £8,750 represent tremendous value for money. 2001 modelyear Xsaras are down by as much as £1,500, bringing the best selling 1.6iLX 5-door down to £10,195, some £1,800 less than the equivalent Ford Focus. The Picasso 2.0HDi now works out at a very reasonable £12,995, and the 1.6iLX at £11,995, though independents have offered the 1.6iLX for as little as £9,000. The soon to be replaced Xantia now starts at £10,995 for the 1.8i 16v Forte, and seven seater Synergies at £16,170. All Citroens come with a three year manufacturer/dealer warranty. Electro galvanized Xsaras have a twelve year body warranty.
