Auction prices continue to firm up

Fri, 22 Dec 2000
At the last auction of the year (my year anyway) prices continued to firm up in anticipation of a rise in demand in January. £7,000 was bang on book money for a 77,000 mile 98R E36 BMW 318i with a/c in perfect condition, but this one was not. It had visible signs of repaired accident damage to the rear three-quarters, badly reassembled boot trim and no tools in the boot lid tool holder. A 104,000 mile 96P BMW 316iSE in Mauritius blue metallic made £6,000 which is well over book for the mileage. £6,100 was slightly over book for a 67,000 mile 95N Ford Galaxy Aspen seven seater with a/c, but these are always good sellers and the buyer should easily see a £1,000 profit in January. £5,850 was all the money for an 80,000 mile 98S Toyota Avensis 2.0CDX (out of warranty on the mileage). £11,150 paid for a 76,000 mile 96P Mercedes E200 Classic five-speed auto meant it had to be for export. And, though it started at a low £15,000, a 17,000 mile 98S old shape Mercedes S320 bid all the way to sell at £21,100. Even Vectras were up a bit with £3,400 paid for a 69,000 mile 97R 1.8iLS automatic in white and £4,750 paid for a 59,000 mile 97R 1.8iLS estate in Ruby Red metallic. These prices from BCA Blackbushe.
