Well, as the vehicle obviously goes faster than that they should fit a warranty with a higher speed rating, which would be their fault.
Sounds like you have them on the hook if they've resorted to spouting utter bull***t to try and wriggle out of it. Try asking them where in the manual it states that exceeding 70mph invalidates the warranty and how they sell the things on the continent, where speed limits are often higher than that?
If you read the post in the link he confirms he sold the van back in December which was a good way of letting Ford "off the hook". Don't think he has anything to complain about now really.
If its only warrantied to 70mph it should say so in the sales brochure and surely there should be a warning in the cab.
