Renault Clio Mk3 - Rear window demister - slowpuncture

The rear window demister heating strips are actually separating from the glass, hanging off and eventually breaking because they are very flimsy. I think this started about 12 months ago but I've only just looked closely at what is actually happening because there are now only two or three working ones left. The car is 08 and owned by me from new so I know that it is the original screen. Anyone else come across this problem? Be a waste of time approaching renault now I suppose. I guess it will mean a new screen.

A few years ago i repaired a heated screen using a conductive paint.

If you can identify the break then this might work. Just had a look and Maplins have got some for £9.99 a tin, might be worth a punt and must be cheaper than a new screen.
