Peugeot 306 Meridan 2.0 2000 - Lowerv ball joint replacement - Rocketman

Hi,

Desperately trying to keep this on the road. More out of determination than anything else.

Failing tie rod end (off side) was picked up on MOT in Late July. Replaced that last week. To be honest that was a lot easier than I thought. I pre cleaned and put pentrating oil on relavant nuts a few days before. They came off very easily and it all worked a treat. The car is a lot better but I could stil hear a very slight knocking. Jacked near side up and found that lower ball joint is failing. Pre-cleaned nuts and bolts as before and will get to this in a few days. K120 hard miles, predominatly urbandriving so steering does get it hard and due new tyres soon so want all work done before hand.

Questions:

With my new found confvidence, is it much more difiilcult than the track rod end? I presume I have to support it all as I undo the ball joint it self or not?? Also, I presume it just the three nuts and bolts that hold it to the control arm and the one for the ball joint it self. ?

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
