Hi,I had all 4 Injectors changed on my focus Dec 2009.However they have gone again!!!I have done less than 10000 miles in this time.SHOULD THIS HAPPEN???Is there an underlying problem to cause this to happen? The car has high milege(144000)However it has full service history. Is there anyone that could shed some light on this matter???Cheers

I think more info is needed< when you say they have "gone" failed? leaking ? all four ?

where do you buy your diesel ? have you got a HP pump fault casuing contamination of the injectors ? what symptons are you suffering ?

thanks for getting back to me mate cheers. To be honest,Im unsure.I'll try to explain as best I can.The engine is very noisy, runs rougher than normal, like a steam train(leaking/loseing compression?) sound coming from injector(s)area, black smoke coming from injector(s) area, also strong smell of fumes inside the car and a little down of power.Hope I have explained enough for you to understand mate.I buy my diesel from Tesco's(very rarely anywhere else).sorry but whats a HP Pump. Thanks again for answering and look forward to your reply!!Cheers

First port of call would be a diesel specialist, its possible you have a leaking injector, leaking diesel causing the smell and smoke and loss of power through reduced injection pressure.
When you get it fixed may be try some different fuel long term as recommended in the handbook, without naming and shaming a different brand.

Injectors lasting 10k miles??? This is unheard of. I'd check the fuel system for any water contamination! Any white smoke you noticed?

unless the HP pump is fragmenting and contaminating the injectors. ijectors need checking for leaks first and water in the fuel

Have you changed the fuel filter?

First port of call.. cut old one in two _ take care- and look for metal fragments.

If so pump gone...

You say there is black smoke around the injectors and noise. I think first job is injector removal and fit some new seals. I don't know what the seals are like on yours, but whenever injectors are removed, the sealing washers should be changed. Some have just a thick copper washer, and others have a copper washer and a mild steel "crush" type under the tip. These can be retrieved with a magnet on a stick. Copper ones are fiddled out with a screwdriver and long nose pliers if they fall off the injector. As yours have been out, not too long ago, I wonder if the old seals were re-used?
