Yesterday on starting there was a great deal of vibration. It died down after a short time but a warning light I have never seen before, like a cog wheel with an exclamation mark in the middle, displayed on the rev counter dial. Drove home, about 9 or 10 miles, but the car was clearly speed limited as max obtainable speed was about 35. Problem disappeared when next started about 1 hour later. Car has a manual gearbox with no fancy extras such as Traction Control. Local garage confused and when taken to a specialist garage the software dispslayed no faults. The car handbook makes no mention of this particular warning light and a Ford 'expert' spoken to on the phone is perplexed. It seems that a 'secondary' management system is installed but what it is supposed to be doing no one seems to know. I'm sure someone out there must have had the same problem!
