after a short period of driving brakes begin to bind and heat up. Further driving will heat pads and brakes extreme. Pedal moves up and begins to get tight requiring minimal pressure to syop completly, If slowing down at about 5mph brakes will self engage and bring vehicle to a stop then partially release. have tried complete brake bleed and fluid replacement, caliper replace, calip check, replaced proportioning valve, checked master cylinder, replaced ABS, now at a loss for ideas.

Wrong pads or discs? There must always be small clearance
Between pad and disc, otherwise they will rub and generate
Heat. Have you had the disc pads changed recently?

Faulty abs unit, faulty brake master cylinder if it happens on all wheels then you have a common major unit fault if it happens only on one wheel then it is more than likely a damaged flexi hose.

Calliper overhall required. New seals and just covers. Regards Peter

If you read the post its on more than one wheel hardly likely to be the calipers on all four wheels and it also says the calipers have been changed.

I've experienced something similar.

The servo had 'shrunk', effectively making the operating rod inside longer, thus partially operating the brakes. The only reason we could see for this was surface corrosion on the servo and the continual presence of a vacuum inside.

Everything we did to the braking system improved its efficiency and seemed to make the problem worse.

We eventually diagnosed it when the vehicle got stuck with the brakes firmly applied and the brake pedal off . Releasing a bleed screw resulted in a spurt of fluid under pressure. Removing and plugging the vacuum feed to the servo and emptying the vacuum reservoir allowed the vehicle to drive without any servo assistance (not recommended!)

The cure was simple as the rod had a threaded section and it just needed its length adjusting to specification.

That a new one to file for future reference....
