expired points and different insurance questions - trivia

I had a total of 6(3+3) points on my license that stayed on till last year(2009). Both were fixed penalty speeding offences(SP30) and the last one was in May 2005. I just received my clean driving license paper part from DVLA - all wiped off (at a cost of £20 ! )

I am shopping around for insurance so just wondering whether my answers to insurance questions below are right or wrong :

- Have you had any motoring convictions?

- Not sure whether the answer is YES or No based on the current status of license or driver ?. I think the answer will always be yes if this question is relevant to a drivers history ?

- Have you had any motoring convictions in the past 5 years?

- No. ( Thankfully they expired ! )

- Do you have any motoring convictions

- No. ( None currently - since they have expired ! )

expired points and different insurance questions - Dwight Van Driver

As I understand it there was need to declare up to May 2010.

Points active for three years

Points removed from Licence 4 years

No need to declare regarding Insurance after 5 years.

Yes from a conviction point of view the declaration needs to be done only till May 2010.

But from a "drivers history" point of view - not sure whether the answer to the question 1 is is YES/NO ?

May be not from a driver's history point of view.
Most insurance companies specifically ask for "last 5 years", and there is one company esure.com has the same question without that "last 5 years" in the end.
So obviously I am confused, hence came here !
