I'm thinking seriously about getting a CR-V. Our budget suggests a 2006 petrol or 2005 diesel. Instinct tells me that the diesel is the one to go for if i can get one in budget. However another popular review site reckons the petrol is the one to go for. HJ car-by-car is non commital and gives both variants good overall but i am mindful that neither reviews have been updated for a couple of years and I wonder if opinions may have changed ?

Any petrol owners out there who wish they had gone for diesel or vice versa?
