01 2.0 Aftermarket Gear stick Lock - Simoncelli58
Hello,I've got a Multi-lock fitted to my Vectra and I'm trying to find a way to remove it !
I've taken the lock itself off, but I'm stuck with the metal plate that comes up to the left of the Gear stick. Is it welded to the underneath of the car or is it bolted ? Can I get access from underneath or do I have to remove all of the trim inside of the car?
Or, will it have to be cut out (not much room for an angle grinder).
Any help at all would be very welcome.( If you need to know the reason, its because it never gets used and its big and ugly).

Sorted ! Moved all the trim out of the way, then half an hour with a Junior Hacksaw. One hard piece of Steel !

What was it bolted to? If it was the floorpan do you now have a hole?

Didn't Edd China have to remove one of these, or something very similar from A BMW (I think) on the TV programme Auto Trader that also starred Mike Brewer. Not an easy task from what I recall.

No holes-I cut the plate in two leaving a chunk bolted to the floor pan.I couldn't get enough access with out a ramp or a pit ! I cut below the level of the trim.All hidden now. Cant see the point in these things when the car has a factory fitted immobiliser ?
