A way to beat the breathalyser - fact or fiction? - ifithelps
I heard the following years ago and always wondered if it was true.

The story goes that some musicians who play wind instruments have a breathing technique which enables them to exhale some air all the time, enabling them to play a note constantly if required.

This technique can be applied to the breathalyser, which means the machine is receiving a proportion of fresh air.

Unless the musician is very heavily intoxicated, he can blow enough fresh air to defeat the machine.

True or false?

At a guess, probably from the same school of thought that says you can get off if the copper wasn't wearing his hat.

Definite fiction, even in circular breathing all the air has passed through your lungs.

The constant blowing out of the mouth is acheived by holding enough air in the mouth to keep blowing whilst breathing in through the nose.
