P reg auto Almera 21,000 miles private sale £2800. OK? or too much?

Too much. Too few miles for the year. All sorts of things can wear with such a ridiculously low mileage (see other threads & test out HJ on the subject!). Too few miles over such a long time are far worse than having lots of well-maintained miles.

Sorry, sounds a bit dogmatic. Meant to add IMHO!

Yeah, Watch that low mileage. Whenever I see low mileage on an older car, I get pictures in my mind of Granny 'High Rev, slipping the clutch' while pulling away. Add to this the 2 minute trip to the post office on Thursday to collect her pension and it could be a not nice recipe.
As it''s a private sale, at least you get to meet the owner!!!
Before you say it, I know this ones an Automatic.
I would go for a slightly higher mileage example although Nissan's are usually pretty reliable so you may get away with a bargain there.
I reckon about £2300 if 1997 or £2000 if 1996.
Look in the oil filler cap for signs of sludging.
Any pearls of wisdom from anyone else??

If its nice condition, runs well, and you like it buy it.You can allways offer a lot less money for it,you neever know you might even buy it for less.High mileage-low mileage, load of doorlocks,if the cars for you the condition must be the most important thing.

Low mileage not always a good thing as already stated. I bought a 1974 Toyota Corolla with 12k on the clock in the

Soory about that.... don't know what happened there !
Anyway I bought this mint condition bright yellow Corolla (auto) seduced by pefrect interior and bodywork. About 2 months later the front brake calipers sized up - very expensive !!! - and then all sorts of engine gremilns started occurring - I eventually sold the car for £350 to a guy wanting to ship it to Nigeria.
A bad case of shurt run syndrome I think.
