I have known occasions where victims of crime inflate their losses in order to make a larger claim on insurance.
Of course, a man of Mr Kay's wealth would not need to do that.

It does seem high, but if they're polishing out stone chips then it's a very skilled operation and certainly far cheaper than a major repaint.
Given his insurance excess is £10k then it certainly wasn't increased for insurance purposes.

A friend is rebuilding an old Lambo Countach and a replacement windscreen from lambo is £1200. You can only buy the screens from Lambo direct and not from autowindscreens!
