Is autotrader the fastest way to sell a car...or is ebay now the way of choice, I only ask in an attempt to cut costs of selling.
How much do you want for it - a 'good' price, or do you just need to shift it?
The ebst price I can get, really...
Well on ebay you are (pretty much) guaranteed a sale - you just list it at 50p for 7 days and keep your fingers crossed. But have at look to see what similar cars to yours are going for (IIRC you can search for items that have already been sold).
Ebay gives you a guaranteed sale, autotrader gives you a guaranteed price - but only if someone wants to pay it. Hence if you are prepared to list it at a price lower than everyone else's, you might get a quick sale.
Sorry if I'm just stating the obvious.

Check Ebays final value fee ( their commission ) first. I just sold a camera for £420 and they took a whopping £43 from that, not inc the cost of the listing.!

I eventually sold my Panda 4x4 by advertising for free on a Fiat forum.
I got £500 more for it than offered at trade-in.
Took a few months to sell but it's a bit of a specialist car so I was not surprised. Enquiries took off after the snows came in Feb this year.
If I was selling a decent, mainstream car I would go for Autotrader rather than eBay, though you may not get the eBest price!!The ebst price I can get really...
Hahaha! Yeah! It's a shame cause I really love my car, but it doesn't make sense in London anymore and my parking permit has just gone up a lot!
Only now it has another 10 months MOT...
I would have thought that should be relatively easy to sell - well known make, low running costs and miles, good kit. Perhaps autotrader, priced for a quick sale?
Same issue as before then, I guess...what's a quick sale price I was going to advertise at £2,700 and settle for anything over £2,500...?
Try a dealer - they may want it.

A friend used Gumtree (free!) for offloading his old Vauxhall Astra Irschmer. Got a call 10 minutes after posting it. Sold for the asking price. But I don't know about others' experiences I must say. As others have said Ebay is a sure-fire way to go but beware of time-wasting idiots.
I'm shocked at the money Ebay took from Mr X for a camera sale. I'd be pretty upset if that was me.
maybe mrX should have focused on the prices a bit more carefully because in the blink of an eye they are taken from your account and its no good clicking the internet link to see what develops
as for advertising ,anyone in the know will tell you there is only one king and if you are looking for the cheapest way to sell something then in my opinion you really dont want to give up the day job-----

Ebay charges 10% of the final value for ordinary items (eg. not motors, property) up to a max of £40. It's easy to find the info:
