Don't know the year - its and Lreg (that'll be 93-94 then)- sorry am being complete girl by asking this oil question.

But the range of oils is flummoxing. And the same way I dont want to cook my cookies with wok oil, I dont want to destroy my stupid car with oil meant for another model.

According to the Vauxhall website a 10W-40 oil, to standard ACEA A3 B3.
(The ACEA standard is in the small print on the back of the container).

Almost anywhere selling engine oil would sell a suitable oil.

I'd second the 10W:40 semi synthetic - Vauxhalls own brand is good and quite cheap. I've used Castrol Magnatec 10W:40 semi synthetic as well. Any decent brand 10W:40 semi synthetic should do the trick - some like Halfords own version.

If you put it in the wrong opening you will be in all sorts of trouble.
Get someone to show you how, men are often better at this sort of thing.
