got a bit of a problem with this berlingo, as it cuts out after 20 minutes..

hoe the problem happs is that it warms it as any car would normally, then the engine management system light comes on you can then drive it for around 2 more minutes then it cuts out.. you can normally re-start and it will go for around 30 yards and cut out again. if you turn it over and leave it standing it runs but as soon as you put the revs up to 2000 it cuts out?

anyone any ideas

o and it normally cuts out when it is going uphill..

Sounds like a fuel flow or fuel pressure issue. You haven't been putting anything silly in the tank and blocked the filter - have you?

Getting the fault-codes read is where to start - it's under warranty, isn't it?

the filter has been changed and they drained the tank as someone said the fuel was comtaminated but we got it back and it's still doing the same thing? tests for the fuel came up clean, it's still under man gaurantee.

when you say silly what do you mean? a friend did say it could be run on bio-diesel? but at a mix of 70-30?

Hi Penguin,
Do you mean 70% cooking oil or something else? Has it actually been run on such?

Exactly that; your "friend" should keep his mouth shut - he may have cost you a small fortune.

Most of the common rail failures, that garages are currently flooded with, are due to disregarding the manufacturer's total prohibition on the use of non-pump diesel.

That's why I asked; you have all the common symptoms of fuel system damage from "bio-fuel." Take it back to the dealers and hope they can save something.

Might be worth asking your friend if he's insured - your warranty is toast.

Exactly my thoughts. With friends like that, who needs enemies?
