Hi all, I have a pug 306 and the gear stick is very wobbly. It goes into gear find but you can move it left about 1/2 inch and right about 1/2 inch. It doesn't cause a problem just veru annoying! Is there anything I can do to tighten it. Thanks.

It's probably the bushes and pivot at the bottom of the gear lever where it bolts onto the main selector shaft under the car. The parts are cheap, and you only need a modicum of skill to fit them. On my ZX though, the pivot and bushes were seized in and the pivot almost worn away. I had to cut the shaft off the car, then apply a lot of heat and a big hammer to get the bushes out. Was going to weld a patch on the shaft as the hole had gone very oval, but never got round to it since it's been OK since.
