Megane sport tourer
ottoman blue or metalic red ?
|
Thats the blue similar to the subaru one? and the red is that nice candy apple red or the burgundy one?
The red is a bit - errr pimpish?
Blue.
|
Pimpish? PIMPISH? Lol!
I do agree though - The blue looks quite sporty.

Personally I'd take the blue, but the red's nice enough and I can't imagine that there'd be a perticular resale issue with either, especially if you're going to be running the car up to 100k miles. Whichever you like but if you're canavassing opinion, blue.
|
cheers guys, i like the blue, wife would like red.
red is a strangeish colour on the megane (metallic)
will go with the blue.
:-)
she only has to drive it 4 days out of 14!

Can be dangerous applying logical statements to SWMBO!!
Guess it'll be the red then!
|
Just a thought - there are lots of Meganes about in the blue colour, but not too many in the reddy colour. On a few years, the red will perhaps be more distinctive and a little more sought after.
The Saxo used to look great in the light blue colour, but most they look a little dated now, more so than the same car in BRG or black.

Agree with Lee, the met. red is more distinctive. Whether that will help resale value or not in years to come is anyone's guess.

Neither, go for silver, should help the resale as well as being a great compromise.
|
nah they look carp in silver, something about the shape does not do it justice,
|
Agree with Adski...all cars look best in black.
However, if you're determined to have one of those two colours, I like red :)

Gold then, should look even more Carp!
|
Check out the flame orange colour...
I your goin to do it then do it style!
|
looking at colours and dimensions in the renault megane book
it is flame red, not orange.
i also like teh hologram grey, black (but wouldnt have black as the scoobysti is black) eclipse grey.
the large center spread is a nice red tho.
dosent look like any of the reds. wonder if i could email renault and ask them?
i really need to see both colours next to each other on the car.
where the heck can i do that?
im turning towards the red side now. DOH !
|
You need to see them in daylight in real life.. Renault colour charts are useless.
For example, the Cosmic grey on the laguna does not look anything like the colour chart in the manual. In real life it picks up hues around it, (ie goes a tad greeny by trees, bluer under a blue sky)
The darker renault metalic greys look really classy in real life but dull and lifeless on paper.
I went to renault west london (on the A40) where they had about a hundred various types (avantimes, vel sati, espaces etc etc)in all the colours. One bloke I know dropped into his local garage every morning on the way to work to see what they had in the way of customer cars going into the service workshops, he reckoned in a week he saw nearly every colour in the range
(wasnt renault BTW but it sounds like a good plan)
|
sounds good idea.
just found out, my m8 works for renault in wolverhampton !
doh !
gona get him to ring me when blue or red are in.
but i guess i wont be ordering it before next week now, damnation!
wanted to get it sorted this weekend, before xmas rush on.
|
Lots of purply Laguna's on the road, reckon its' because it looks silver in the brochure. An ex colleague made this mistake.
|
saw the red today, it looks real nice in the sun, but it looks dark reddy brown in twilight.
mmmm i dunno, wife still wants red.
looking on m5/m6 today loads of blues around, not many reds.
blue looks a bit girly as well.
but red is my favourite colour, so i am swinging towards red now
!
my brother-in-law who works for renault, can get 22% off.
nice.
must get it done before next fri, so get it b4 xmas

Whilst we're on the subject of colours, parked outside my local Mini dealers was a BMW mini in one of those nasty boy-racer chameleon paints. Positively the worst I've seen since it first appered on the Primera in the mid 90s (apart from every resprayed Corset/Nooova/Wunnosicks/Sackso on the road of course...and don't get me onto big exhaust pipes or even twin big exhaust pipes where only one works....are they for boys without d!cks???????)
Seriously though, one fairly big independant leasing/hire company from Liverpool, which virtually only supplies Renaults, has a fleet of metallic blue Clios, but all their Lagunas are the metallic dark red colour....they all apparently go back to the supplying dealer at 10,000 miles, hence maybe contributing to the large number of blue Clios????
|
If you think the MINI colour's sick, you should pop in and ask them how much they'd add to the cost to do it to a MINI.

IMO, both colours really suit this car, but the red somehow comes across as the more sophisticated colour. Given that every man and his dog has the blue, go for the red!
