Anyone used one of these companies that will remove/spray chips and scratches by just touching up the affected area?

I've got a long but shallow scrach on my passenger door (pesky kids!), and I'm thinking of using a company called Chips Away. They gurantee exact colour match, and can remove it without the need to spray the whole door.

I've got metallic paint too, so presumably this makes it more difficult?

Should I give it a whirl?

ChipsAway have been mentioned before and it all depends on the operator as they are franchises. I had a bumper done a couple of years ago but the paint bloomed due to moisture getting under the lacquer. ChipsAway were helpful and had another operator come out to re-do the affected area. That was done this week and, on initial inspection, it looks good. I need to wash the car this weekend so the proof will be once it is full cleaned.

I have a pearlescent red on my car and the match is indistinguishable from the original.

I have used my local guy and he did a very good job on mine. Fot small dents and scratches to bumpers I think they are OK.

That said , I had a look at my neighbours car which the same guy repaired not long before mine and noticed rust appearing in an area of wheel arch that he was supposed to have fixed.

I also have concerns about them spraying your car on the drive or outside - on a wet day they have a tent to cover the car but a windy day sees spray paint going all over the place.

I would contact your local guy and ask to see some previous cars that he has repaired.
