I\'ve got a 1997 ford escort 1.8 turbo diesel and i\'m wanting to put a tow bar on it. I\'ve got a spare tow bar from a rover 214. does anygbody know if this would fit a ford escort. Many thanks

Quite simply, no.
Cars have fixing points for a tow bar to be fitted, and so bars are made to the specification for each model.

You'll also be breaking the law. Any tow bar fitted MUST be approved for the vehicle it is being fitted to.
