Renault Clio starting fault

Renault Clio starting fault - Wendy
Hi

Since buying my M Reg Clio from a neighbour, it fails to start first time. I was warned that this was a problem with renaults - and I was wondering if its a problem that gets worse (and expensive!!)

I've had 8 different Renault models over the years and every one of them always started first time, every time. The wife's Clio has never failed to start first go either.

However, after the bitter pill of a Laguna I have to agree with the general consensus of opinion here and I'll never buy another!

Does your Clio always start second time? I have had a couple of cars that did this and it never bothered me.

Did it always start first time when your neighbour owned it, or has this happened since you bought it?

It always happened when my neighbour had it - but I was worried it was going to get worse!

Check your starting routine and don't touch the throttle. A common failing is the coolant temperature sensor.
