As i'm sure you all know, the Mini cabrio will be launched this summer, branded as 'Mini Open'.
I am considering ordering one with a view to keeping it for the summer then selling it on at (hopefully) a modest profit after 3-4 months.
What does the backroom think of this plan? Is it likely that Mini Opens will be changing hands at a premium, as the hatches did for the first 12-18 months? Are there any obvious pitfalls i should be aware of?

Hi
Have you seen the pictures of it? Looks very nice and there's a couple of colours that will be exclusive to the cabrio...
It'll no doubt be a car that's in high demand initially - I think dealers are currently taking the inital firm orders for the - people are chosing their specification.
But to come back to your question- you'll not lose too much money on it - despite the MINI being just about everywhere now, the residuals are still very good. Whether or not you'll make money - well if I thought it was a guarantee I'd be ordering one.
I guess outside the normal stuff about choosing the right spec and right colour, I can't offer you much more advice.
But then what's the worst that can happen? You'll just have a fun car!

Sell in May next year when, like all ragtops, price will be highest and have fun in the meantime.
