isuzu trooper 3.0td swb - fuel issues air in system? - buddy holly

hi just bought a 98' trooper 3.0td

trouble holding fuel up runs great then nothing cuts out trouble starting back up needs priming then eventually starts then goes again

any ideas or help please

Firstly change the fuel filter if not already done and make sure the housing seals properly. Failing that you have an air leak somewhere, check the fuel pipe from the tank, if it has a hand primer they can go leaky as well. If you put a section of clear plastic tube in the fuel line near the pump you will see bubbles if there is air present. Also check the injector leak off pipes.

Hi Buddy
I have seen a few of these old Troopers suffering from corroded fuel lines. Usually on the top of the fuel tank where the pipes come out. They don't necessarily leak fuel just pull in air.
