There I am sitting patiently in a queue at some temporary three way traffic lights on a narrow road, long delay on light changes with no traffic moving either way as the third controlled sideroad is very quiet.

I was about five cars from the lights and at least fifteen cars behind me, cold morning so exhaust vapour clearly visible from cars in the queue and most likely plenty of brake lights lit up, eventually vehicles start to come through the roadworks and promptly stop along side me, looked in my mirror and a lorry had overtaken the queue of cars and met the oncoming traffic now coming through the roadworks.

Have to say I was more than a little puzzled as to why he thought it was a good idea to overtake all the cars in the queue. He had an awful lot of reversing to do.

Is it just me?

Is it just me?

No, come across it a few times when someone thinks they are more entitled to be in front than anyone else, last one I met had a load of horns blasting at them, not that they take any notice as they don`t

To correct my post I was talking about car drivers not lorry drivers who I have a lot of respect for, as I have seen what some car drivers are like during their manoeuvring!

A few years ago I was nearly wiped out on the A1 by a lorry driver in the inside lane who almost certainly saw me in his mirror in the middle lane just yards behind him, and yet still decided to move over to overtake a slower vehicle. Presumably he judged my speed completely wrong, but still found it necessary to blow his horn at me and wave his fist out of the window, even though the onus was on him to remain where he was till I'd passed, rather than on me to employ the reactions of a superhero, move rapidly into the outside lane and give him room.

Other than that, most lorry drivers behave impeccably, in my experience.

Unfortunately there are good and bad drivers in all shapes and sizes of vehicles. As someone who drives a lorry I can only wish that car drivers could learn to indicate properly at roundabouts.

Companies are willing to employ any lorry driver who can make it move at the moment, just as long as they will do it for the pittance being offered.

Why just inidate properly at a roundabout why not indicate properly everywhere.

I know either is too much to ask.

Why just indicate properly at a roundabout why not indicate properly everywhere.

Perhaps because changing gear and steering properly doesn't leave a great deal of time to operate indicators with unambiguous results? Especially while making phone calls ....

Especially while making phone calls

It`s getting worse, more drivers than ever seem to be using the phone to their ears now,and a few close shaves with lorries turning with certain drivers not giving room for them to make the turn, idiots
