Could we have more time to edit our posts. I often get caught out by the time limit after I spent 10 minutes carefully editing spelling mistakes, bloopers, and other stuff. This tablet of mine does not allow me to type at 120 wps.

I often like to rephrase and tweak my original post to remove potentially contensious statements which takes time.....only to find......damn.....page did not load as expected.

Would be handy...

I'd agree with that, i often make typos and upon re-reading find i've made a speeling or grammar howler worse than my usual gaffes, often enough too late to check it.

One other thing, i know i tend to waffle and i'm hardly the worlds fastest typist, and it has happened to me before that i've typed a long post out then press send and...nope i've been timed out of login, arrgh...stop laughing at the back there Jones minor..:)....so for now if i type a long post i try to remember to copy it before sending, that way it hasn't just vanished into the ether, but a longer period on login would be handy too.

Would be useful ...

I agree that more time would be helpful.

Doesn't anyone cut and paste from a word processor? One advantage is that you can check at the last moment to be sure no one has been writing much the same as you have.

I use this method for anything bar one liners. It is too frustrating if you have typed a paragraph or two and lose internet connectivity.

I've E-mailed Kalpesh, our IT expert, and asked him to comment.

if I have a long post I type it out in word first, then cut & paste it in, or edit and correct if necessary, but of course neither are possible if using a mobile device ..... (which I do sometimes use)

Not true, you can copy and paste and use Word (or a n other word processor) on a mobile device.

Kalpesh has sent this reply when I queried this issue with him:

We've made some changes which shouldn't make this an issue going forward. Those changes should be going Live some time today. But as one of the other forum users mentioned, it's always good to save the message in a notepad or start it in one. Doing that would prevent the user from being frustrated losing everything they've typed just in case something were to happen with their tablet/computer. (hopefully nothing does happen but you never know, and it has happened to me in the past on customer services support sites) Either way, the change should be sufficient so hopefully this will help those who have a lot to say. Any more queries, please get back to me.

Thanks, Avant & Kalpesh - your efforts are appreciated although not always noticed.
