Not wishing to instigate a political debate, but are we expecting fuel prices to rise as a result of Saturday night’s US air strikes on Iran?
I see now that Iran are threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world’s oil passes. Read more

Great shirt - in a transient absence of sense I bought a similar one a few years ago at the annual Lead East jamboree in Parsippany. They should make English ones with old Austins, Rovers and Bentleys with a background of oak trees. I like his stuff, despite him padding it out from five to twenty five minutes, gesticulating wildly and talking in a silly voice. Gets interesting after 10mins.
I didn't get a close enough look from the front but I saw a private hire taxi here in Colchester today.

I quite liked the look of the Judge Dredd citycabs.
Not terribly practical, though!...
Hi.
This is a 2014 car, with a value of less than £3k. The airbag light comes on intermittently, almost permanently now, and this has been diagnosed by a garage as being one of the side curtain bags.... Read more
I had a car with a faulty passenger airbag warning. An (expensive) diagnosis indicated the connection under the passenger seat. Disconnecting the battery for a couple of hours, to make sure it didn't go 'pop' while working on it, I simply jumpered the wires around the plug. Perhaps I could've got away with working the plug in and out a few times, but five minutes with some wire and soldering iron cured it permanently.
Just checking my account which is showing as open with a healthy prepay balance and recent crossings appear not to have been charged. ( I only pay £2 as a prepay ) ( every little helps )

In short, the toll no longer funds the build—it now funds ongoing maintenance and traffic control. Basically a tax!!
Not really - money for those things has to come from somewhere. Better for it to be paid for (semi-)directly ?
With some recent models able to control their speed according to local limits, two points occur to me:
- is the driver instantly able to override the control to escape a potential 'incident' ?... Read more
Occasionally mine spots signs at the entrance to a car or retail park and immediately warns that I am (unsurprisingly) exceeding 5 or 10mph.
I tend to leave it on full time as it is part of the "avoid a ticket" approach to motoring. Just need to use some judgement rather than rely entirely on tech....

Most decisions to give up driving have been taken by either an optician or a GP when you visit for a what you believe is a routine check.
Covering their indemnity they err on the safe side and advise against driving until told otherwise by a specialist !...
For those who may travel, an interesting article and also on the page a map.

One more step along the road to getting rid of the ZFE's and the CritAir sticker.
The French National Assembly has voted in favour of a proposal to sc*** the country's Low Emission Zones (Zones à Faibles Émissions or ZFEs), which currently restrict access to certain city areas for older, more polluting vehicles based on their Crit’Air rating.
However, despite the vote, the process isn’t over. The bill now heads to a joint parliamentary committee, where seven senators and seven MPs will attempt to reconcile different versions of the text. Notably, the version previously passed by the Senate doesn’t mention ZFEs at all, meaning the amendment could still be removed before becoming law.

So keep your CritAir sticker for now.
Not really a motoring question so forgive me if not appropriate. Has anyone had any success using plastic type repair products to mend a broken hinge or joint? If so could you recommend one please. I need something that will take a screw and some stress and wondered if anyone had used a suitable product to repair plastic on a car. Thanks. Read more
Thank you, much appreciated and will come in useful at some time I’m sure.

Will fuel prices increase? Well have crude oil prices increased?
Not so far but let's keep an eye on it. ...
