Does anyone have experience with the above or similar product which is supposed to mop up water which has condensed in the fuel tank, thereby reducing chances of corrosion? (Other benefits also claimed.)

Can anyone explain to me how the clutch works on VW/Audi's DSG gearbox and whether leaving it in Drive whilst stationary does any harm? I have tried VW, Audi and Skoda web-sites but there seems a dearth of information on the system.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Nortones2 - do you have any view on likely clutch wear caused by leaving the gearbox in Drive when stationary?

Out of respect to the people who were tragically killed in this accident, I have pulled this thread.
I don't think we should be making any speculations as to how it occured.

I'll be driving from Sheffield to the Isle of Mull over the Easter weekend. According to the AA website the route is A57, M60, M6, M74, A82.
1. Does this look like the best route?
2. Does anyone have any advice on the best day/time to make the journey? I can travel any time on Good Friday, Saturday or Sunday and am keen to avoid Easter Weekend congestion.
3. Any suggestions as to good stopping points (transport cafes etc)?
4. Any well known speed camera areas?
Thanks very much in advance

Thanks to everyone who answered my request. I think I'll go early Saturday am and I'll make sure I book a ferry place.
Thanks again

I've been running my Mondeo for nearly a year now covering some 20k miles.
On odd occasions during acceleration the turbo becomes what might be described as 'lumpy'. It feels like the effect of a 'kick-down' on an automatic and the engine gives out a throaty noise, it will then clear itself to give a smooth acceleration and then go through the same motions again until changing up a gear. This doesn't happen if the acceleration is gentle, only when on a loaded hill climb or high acceleration during overtaking etc. I've been told that this could be turbo surge, if so is there anything that can be done about it?

Thanks for that Ralph, I'll give them a try.
Is the establishment being over-cautious? Most of the ?slow? signs might have been relevant when there were no speed limits on rural roads, no MOT tests, no high-friction road surfaces and when vehicles were much cruder than they are now. But it?s hard to get into difficulties now in a modern vehicle when you are keeping to current speed limits. (Assuming that you are not non compos mentis, physically handicapped, or under the influence etc etc).

That's quite some postman! None of the ones I've seen walking around could be accused of going too fast!
Not that I blame them ... I'd be even slower, probably....
Can anyone shed some light on this??.If the driver's side wing mirror button is pressed and the "joystick" is used to move the wing mirror, should the passenger wing mirror move as well?. Using the passenger side control and joystick only moves the passenger side mirror.Seems strange to me.Vauxhall told me that this is the way it is meant to be.That means the only way to get the passenger mirror to the desired location is to move them both first then to move the passenger side by itself. Sorry, I don't get this? The up/doem direction might be OK in tandem, but surely the mirrors would need to be moved in opposite directions - ie both inwards or outwards, depending on where the driver sits.
And that's *exactly* what it does. It's a very sensible way of working and I find it works really well.
If I jump in my 2006 Vectra after my wife's been driving it, I simply select the drivers mirror, then move the mirrors "up" (so that I'm not looking at the floor) and "out" so that BOTH mirrors aren't staring into the side of the car....
Can anyone in BackroomLand help:
I'm looking at a 93 V8i 3.5 litre LR Discovery for a friend and wish to check the ignition timing. I only have access to the data for 95MY 3.9 litre which says:
timing at 800rpm max (vac disconnected) 5 BTDC +/-1
Can anyone tell me if the 3.5 is the same or if not what should it be?
Many thanks

when it is illegal for any other vehicle to race? Please
don't say it's because they're slower than cars or motorbikes. It's
more to do with safety.

Because they are. Because we live in a country where everything other than going to work and going home again is not illegal because somebody else doesn't like it.
At the moment, anyway.
I am in the process of fitting a 4.0 V8 EFI from a vitesse into my Rover P6. Apart from the ecu unit and relavant parts of the wiring loom are there any other parts needed to complete the job.

Methanol (model airplane fuel) does the same.
