Ford Focus Coupe-Cabriolet (2006 – 2011) At A Glance
Good looks. Huge boot with the roof up and still quite roomy when it's lowered. Solid to drive and a comfortable cruiser.
Rear legroom is a bit tight. 2.0 petrol engine not lively. Had a leak problem at screen top seal, but seemed to be fixed by 2011.
A bit colour sensitive. It's a matter of "does my bum look big in this colour." It doesn't in Acqua Blue. But it can do in ‘Iris' or ‘Luna'. And, like the 207CC, tan leather suits its Italian styling very nicely.
It's listed cheaper than the Astra Twintop and Eos. And though Ford only expects to sell 6,000 in a full year, it will have built in a margin that allows for discounting. There's also a launch offer of free dual climate control and leather on CC-3 versions, so it's off to a good start.

Leaking Foof, Main Dealer won't fix it
"I have been told by the Ford Main Dealet that they won't touch fixing the Leaking roof and that they have to put it on a jig to fix it and only Ford' in Alperton can do this. I have also been told that this will cost a minimum of £700.00 to do it. I have contacted other garage repair shops but they too take a sharp intake of breath and say they won't touch it. Is this true and is there anyway I could replace the seals myself?

This was a fundamental problem with the original Focus CC, exacerbated by the roof of the factory in which it was built blowing off as the result of a tornado in the region. The best sunroof people in the country seem to be: http://www.bristolsunroofs.co.uk/ They are well worth a try.
Focus Coupe Convertible - wlll 15-inch wheels give me a smoother ride ?
"I've previously improved the ride on a 2008 Ford Focus Zetec 1.6 TDCi by changing from the supplied 205/55/R16 wheels to 195/65/R15s.
I've just done the same change with a 2010 Focus C-Max Zetec 1.6, swapping from 16-inch alloys (that came with the car) to 15-inch steel wheels. In both cases, the drive is far more forgiving over the potholed-roads here in Suffolk.
Would it be possible (and safe) to run a 2008 Ford Focus Coupe Convertible (2.0L TDCi) with the same 195/65/15 wheels and tyres?

They might have slightly bigger brake discs to cope with the extra weight, but I'm not sure. If they do have bigger brakes they might not fit inside the 15-inch wheels.
Problem of dashboard reflecting in windscreen
"For many years I have driven various Ford models; Orion, Focus, Mondeo and at the moment have a Focus Cabriolet. Over the years the streamlining has meant that the windscreens have become more raked back so that the top of the dashboard reflects very clearly in the windscreen when the sun shines and it is a real problem in certain levels of sunlight. I have a piece of black fabric which solves the problem beautifully but it slides around very and nothing will stick to the surface. I’ve tried everything I can think of and our local Ford garage even gave me some of the sticky pads that hold rear view mirrors on to the windscreen and even they don’t work. Do you have any bright ideas? Is there anything known to man that will stick on the surface of a Ford dashboard?
I am not aware of ever having heard anyone else complain of this but I find it hard to believe that I’m the only person to find this a problem. "
A company tried to market dashtop covers, called 'Dashmats', but could not make a living out of it. Black felt and Velcro strips seem to be the answer, but be careful not to block the airvents that themselves can reflect badly in screens.
Discovered that my car was first registered in Cyprus
"I bought a Ford CC1 in 2010 and this was registerred by the Wright Car Centre and DVLA on 1st March 2010, I was advised I would have a 2 year warranty.
I bought the car thinking it was not a pre-registerred car. I took the car into Ford for a service and required some things to be fixed under the warranty and they advised me the car was not in warranty as it was an imported car from Cyprus and was 1st registered on 31 Dec 2008. Very dissappointed that this was not pointed out by the Wright Car Centre and that I will now have to pay for items which should be covered under the warranty they advised me of. Any help and advice would be appreciated."
You could attempt to sue the people who sold you the car. But they will claim you bought a Cyprus car at a huge discount so should expect this.

Its bum hides a colossal boot of 534 litres. So bags of space for golf bags or holiday luggage, and still 248 litres with the top down. That means a few inches sacrifice of rear seat legroom, though. A 5' 9" person can travel a decent distance behind another five-foot-niner, but two six footers can't.
Top up, it becomes a very elegant coupe well worthy of its Pininfarina badges, and Ford has been smart in using an uncomplicated two-piece roof. That didn't prevent a slight delay in launch due to a hydraulic leak, but that was much more easily fixed than the water leaks of more complicated coupe-cabrios.

Driving Ford Focus Coupe-Cabriolet (2006 – 2011)
Engines are a 1.6 100PS Mazda-derived chain-cam four, Ford's 145PS 2.0 litre chain-cam four, both with five speed manuals, or the Ford/PSA 2.0 litre diesel with a six speed manual. It can tow up to 1,350 kg with the 2.0 litre petrol engine and 1,450kg with the 2.0 litre diesel. No autos yet, and 90% of sales are expected to be 2.0 litre petrol models.
So that's what we drove.
This isn't a punchy engine and makes the Focus CC more of a relaxed cruiser than a sportscar. There's no sacrifice in handling, though. It feels rock-solid through the corners and over uneven surfaces. With the windbreak in place and the windows up there is little buffeting, so, though snow was forecast, it was still feasible to drive top-down.
At the launch, Ford also had a 1961 Consul 375 convertible. A lovely old thing: 1,703cc, three-on-the-tree and bench seats for six. It served as a useful reminder that Ford convertibles used to be considered posher than Ford saloons. In the 60's, if you were rich enough, you could happily run a Consul, Zephyr or Zodiac convertible alongside a Bentley or Roller.
And that's still the case. The Focus CC is a much classier car than a Focus hatchback, and one you could happily park on the quayside at Puerto Banus instead of in the multi-storey.
