Subaru Tribeca (2006 – 2010) At A Glance

2/5

+Stacked full of kit and seats up to seven. Comfortable ride.

-It's thirsty and there's no diesel version. Only top-spec models have seven seats and the third row tight for space.

Automatic gearbox oil change
"Is changing the transmission oil on this vehicle a DIY job?"
Changing the transmission oil on any torque converter automatic is never a DIY job unless you have a hoist and don't mind removing the sump. A lot of the fluid stays in the torque converter drum so less than half will drain from the sump plug unless it is pumped out.

Valuations for Subarus
"I own a 2004 plate 2.0 XT Forester that has done 89k miles and was sent a promotional letter by a Subaru dealer, which entitles me to an enhanced trade-in on any Subaru (new or used). They have a 2009 Tribeca SE7 that has done 15k miles. After negotiation, they offered me the Tribeca for my car plus £10k. Is that a good deal? Also, are there any bad points about the Tribeca as there are none on your site?"
The Tribeca has sold in such small numbers that it is an unknown quantity, which is why there is no feedback on my site. Strangely, it is comprehensively booked, though, at retail between £9,300 for an S5 through £12,950 for an SE5 to £13,625 for an SET. A 2004 Forester 2.0 XT with 70k miles trade books at £4k. 90k miles knocks it back to £3,425.
