How do we fix our blocked DPF?

Our car's DPF is blocked. I've have tried regenerating it by running it down the motorway, but it's had no effect. Is there anything else I can do?

Might be possible to have it chemically cleaned out by Ceramex, but the fact it has been removed and put back will be spotted in the course of an MoT so the chemical cleaning of the DPF needs to be fully documented. Otherwise you need a new DPF and that also needs to be fully documented for future MoTs.

I just had my car plugged into a diagnostic computer at a garage and the mechanic said the DPF is blocked. I asked if it could be regenerated, but he said it needs replaced. Does £900 to replace it sound...

What year were DPFs introduced by Ford and Vauxhall. Also is there anything out there that can really clean them, apart from long drives?
