Who should I report incorrect overhead traffic signs to?

I have taken to phoning 101 (the nationwide police non-emergency number) on each of the many occasions when I spot a set of overhead signs which are clearly wrong. Is there an more effective way of getting the Highways Agency to improve their act?

I don't know if it's the kit or the people. Possibly depends on who is on duty for that area that day. Some of them are excellent. Some are clearly nuts, but probably unsackable. If you see the wrong information being displayed, phone the Highways Agency and tell them on 0300 123 5000. And if you see a situation likely to lead to a jam, phone the BBC Radio 2 Traffic Hotline on 03700 100 200.
