I have a 2017 Honda HR-V. Do I need to disconnect the battery to trickle charge?

We've asked all the car manufacturers what their specific battery charging advice is. You can find that here:

Honda told us: 'Customers can trickle charge the 12v batteries in their cars. Though they have to completely remove the connection to the car before doing so. They cannot trickle charge the main battery in a Honda hybrid – that is powered by the car and will never go below 20% charge anyway.'
