Can I get a refund on my car's first year road tax VED?

On selling an almost new car, what refund should the DVLA give? The normal cost or the first-year road tax inflated amount?

You will not get the first year 'showroom' VED road tax back - only a proportion of the annual tax.

I taxed my new (to me, but second hand) car for 12 months from 28.3.2022, but the DVLA reminder is telling me that it expires and needs renewing from 28.2.2023. Why am I only getting 11 months' tax?
