R Reg 1299cc - Bounces and judders. - fatkenny
I have recently bought my first car and it is an R reg Ka. It has started to bounce and judder along the road. It can happen at anytime regardless of speed, warmth of the engine and if I am changing gear or not.
Does anyone have any idea why it is doing this and what I can do to rectify it?
Thank you in advance for your answers.

kenny

If this is an engine misfire; then the plugs, HT leads and the coilpack are the first things to test.

Don't leave it; there have been many cases of ECU back-spiking damage from a faulty coilpack.

hey up fatkenny lad ,give the car a service sounds like it needs one.

It only had a service in March! Going to tackle the spark plugs first and then the HT leads if the plugs don't sort it out. Thanks for the help.

Be careful with the plugs they may have been left alone in march due to them being seized into the head
If you are doing them then take the rubber gromit out of your spark plug socket so you get a better feel of the plug
clean the plug holes prior to plug removal as well
and
look at the air pipe from filler cap to inlet manifold, where they touch the rocker box top they wear a hole here and let in air on the movement of the engine causing revs to go up and down
finally only buy ngk or bosch plugs
