Vectra front discs / spacer? - Cyrill666 {P}
Hello,

I'm about to change the front discs and pads on my 99 2.0 Di Vectra. I haven't yet bought the replacement parts but decided to check the disk dimentions this evening, when I removed the alloy wheel, I noticed a plastic spacer on the hub - it seems the diameter of the alloy 'hole' is larger than the diameter of the hub - is this normal? Where would I find replacement spacers?

As far as I can tell it's simply used to hold the wheel in position whilst the wheel bolts are inserted and tightened and wouldn't serve any purpose once the wheel was in place.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,
Cyrill666

Hi Cyrill666,
After looking on the secound hand market for alloys, I've come across all kinds of info;
The hub spacers are VERY important, as the load of the car can only be taken on the hub and NOT the bolts - they are only there to hold the wheel on.
Alloys are normaly made larger to fit more cars, and come with hub spacers -either plastic or metal - to fit.
Have a look at this link for replacements, www.trackstore.co.uk/wspacers.html
You will need the original hub bore diameter and alloy wheel bore diameter to find the correct spacer.
