hi there

i have a 206 1.4hdi 2002...firstly it had intermittent lack of power and on 2 ocasions the car just cut out while driving, but did restart straight away when i turned the key.

Now the lack of power is constant...acceleration is slow it struggles to get to 20mph - 30mph (which is now the top speed) - and there are no warning lights.

A couple of days before this happened a clicking sound was coming from the front of the engine area i'm not sure what this is but it has some sort of cover (it's just behind the radiator) the noise went away after couple of minutes.

any advise will be appreciated

Start by replacing the diesel fuel filter.Very common for these to block up and restrict fuel flow.
